Kelly McMurray is a professional teacher, born in Ontario, raised in Edmonton and has resided in Calgary for over 20 years with her husband and 2 children (when they are not off studying at university). She graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Education with Distinction, and then taught grades 6 and 2 in the public system before taking a career break to raise her children. During the Covid Lockdown, Kelly became fascinated with the Montessori philosophy, completing the North American Montessori Center certification program to become a guide for ages 3-6, having found the teaching philosophy and methods to be ideal in reaching each child as an individual. Kelly has been a part-time and substitute teacher with Calgary Montessori for the past 3 years and is currently teaching the Kindergarten program every morning at the Calgary Montessori north location. In her spare time, Kelly loves to travel, read, and run in Griffith Woods.
